Central to this Website is the Offers and Wants page, where members of Furzedown LETS publish the items and services they want to trade with other members. Anyone can see this list, but you need to join as full member before you can see any contact details.

Once you become a full member of Furzedown LETS, you can enter your offers and wants and see the contact details, so that you can initiate a trade.

To sign up:
1. Click Create an Account on the menu on the left side. Then enter:
  • A User Id - This is how you will be listed on the site. So make it something you are happy for people to identify you by.
  • A Password. This must have at least 6 characters, at least one of which must be a number. (Tip: Think of a memorable word and replace the letter o with a zero, the letters i or l with a number 1, or a z with a 2, etc.)
  • Your name and a valid email address. (Each user must have a different email address. This means that if several people from the same household want to join and have separate user accounts, each one must have their own email address. However, it is easy to create a new free email account - try searching for "free email" on Google. If you are stuck, email us for advice.)
2. When you've entered all of that, click Submit.
3. The Website will then automatically send you an email. When you receive this, you must click the link in the email to activate your account.
4. This will take you back to this Website, where you can use the My account link to fill in your address and phone number and choose whether you want these to be visible to other paid-up members. (If you say no, they will only see your email address.) Then click Update your account details.
5. You will not be able to enter your own offers and wants or see the details of the existing offers and wants unless you join Furzedown LETS.
Using the Offers and Wants page:

You can get a list of the existing offers and wants, by clicking the Search button. When you first open the page the Service Type and Category search criteria are automatically set to All. This means that when you click Search, all of the offers and wants that have been entered will be listed.

You can restrict the list by selecting Offers or Wants in the Service Type selector and choosing the category you are interested in.

You can see a longer description of an item, by clicking the magnifying glass icon on the left side of the item in the list. If you are a full member, this also gives you the contact details of the member offering the item. If it is your own item, this also lets you change it or delete it.

If you are a full member, use the Post New Offer or Want button to enter details of a service or goods you want to offer or receive.

Trading

Once you are a full member, you will be able to use the scheme to trade with other members. To find out how to do this, click the How to Trade link on the left side.

Note: When you use one of the forms to view details or enter information, make sure you use the Return to the list link at the bottom of the page rather than your browser's Back button (which may lead to a "Page has expired" message and you will then need to log in again).
